I’ve been rooted in rural Illinois horticulture all of my life.
It started as a chore in Mom's strawberry patch, picking 1 quart of berries for every 2 gallons of grumbles.
That cranky start sprouted into
-
a 4-H floral design course,
-
a summer job growing Iris, Daylilies, Hostas and Mums at Hornbaker Gardens in Princeton, Illinois throughout high school and college
-
a landscape design internship at Hoerr's Nursery in Peoria
-
and eventually a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Illinois.
I have a passion for growing sustainably and look forward to continuing to develop locally grown flower production in Kankakee County.
